Tai Lung Looking At Computer

About
“Tai Lung Looking At Computer” is a reaction image of Tai Lung, the snow leopard villain from Kung Fu Panda, leaning toward a computer monitor with wide eyes and his mouth hanging open. It's posted with a short caption above the picture describing whatever he's supposedly reading, and it shows up mostly as a reply on Facebook, Reddit and Twitter/X.
Origin
Tai Lung comes from DreamWorks' 2008 film Kung Fu Panda, but the computer was never in the movie. Someone edited a monitor into a still of the character, and the earliest known copy is a Facebook reply from 2022 by a Brazilian user, who posted it without much attention.
The edit caught on as a reaction image over the following months. On September 11th, 2022, a Twitter user used it to react to a shocking scene from HBO's House of the Dragon, and on September 28th the reaction-image account @reactjpg added it to its catalog as "Tai Lung looking at computer screen exasperated confused shocked." Both posts picked up a few hundred likes, and the picture has been a stock reply ever since.
Meaning
The image stands for stunned disbelief at something on a screen: a bad take, a cursed post, a wild plot twist, or your team's league table. The caption sets up what Tai Lung is looking at, and his face does the rest.
People mostly use it as a reply to controversial opinions or strange content online, so the tone is usually mock horror rather than real outrage. It also works for self-deprecating jokes, like someone watching their own bad decisions play out in real time.
