Hand on Shoulder

About
“Hand on Shoulder” also called Man Putting Hand On Shoulder or Akakichi no Eleven Redraws, is an exploitable reaction image built from a single frame of the 1970s soccer anime Akakichi no Eleven. In the shot, a big-chinned man rests his hand on another character's shoulder and gives a small, reassuring smile.
Origin
The frame comes from Akakichi no Eleven, a youth-soccer anime that aired in the early 1970s.
French Twitter accounts began passing the screenshot around as a reaction image in late 2023, with an early example from user @latour0_ on November 24th, 2023.
The source stayed a mystery until January 5th, 2024, when user @FullSaphir posted that they'd tracked down the original scene, a tweet that pulled more than 890 retweets and 6,400 likes within five days.
Meaning
On its own, the frame reads as quiet reassurance, one guy telling another it's all going to be fine without saying a word. That's what made it click as a wordless reaction before anyone knew its source.
The joke lands in the gap between that calm, supportive gesture and whoever's been placed into it.
