About
“I See This as an Absolute Win” features a still taken from Avengers: Endgame, on top of which creators insert a quote that references situations that can be considered positive.
Origin
The "I See This as an Absolute Win" meme comes directly - both its image macro and the quote itself - from Avengers: Endgame, one of the last films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which will soon conclude with Spider-Man: Far From Home.
Hulk, the well-known, green, super-strong Marvel mutant superhero, is the subject of the image macro. In the film, to provide some context for the phrase's use, Hulk uses the line "I see this as an absolute win," as a way of answering the widely-known, ancient phrase of "you win some, you lose some."
Although Avengers: Endgame was released to the American public on April 26, 2019, "I See This as an Absolute Win" never became a meme until some two weeks after the movie was aired in theaters.
Reddit user u/ShoreSWBF posted the image macro to r/dankmemes, a subforum on Reddit, also known as a subreddit, where most modern popular memes are derived from. Within the first three days of u/ShoreSWBF's posting of what would soon become known as the "I See This as an Absolute Win" image macro, the post garnered just short of 14,000 upvotes.
Meaning
This image macro is used by inserting a quote such as "When the lego set says 4-8 years, but you finish it in 5 months [sic]," which has already been used. Such quotes are used to refer to good situations that can be considered "wins," though some meme creators use the format sarcastically.
