RFK Jr. Confessing

About
“RFK Jr. Confessing”, also called RFK Jr. "So It's X", is an image macro of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. sitting in an armchair with his arms crossed, wearing a light blue shirt and tie, his eyes half closed mid-story. On X (formerly Twitter), people caption it with the opening line of a fake confession, usually So it's [year] and I'm at [place]..., which makes it look like Kennedy is about to take the blame for some famous disaster.
Origin
The picture is a still from a video Kennedy posted to X on August 4th, 2024, while running for president as an independent. In it he tells Roseanne Barr how, in 2014, he left a dead bear cub in New York's Central Park as a prank. He seemed to be getting ahead of a New Yorker story about it. The video got more than 14.5 million views in two days.
The format started the next day. On August 5th, X user @ING2Firebrand posted a screenshot from the video with a caption that had Kennedy owning up to 9/11, and it got over 25,000 likes in a day. Within hours, people were making him confess to the Dave Matthews Band bus dumping waste on a Chicago River tour boat, the ship blocking the Suez Canal, Chernobyl and more.
Meaning
The joke is that the bear story was so bizarre that Kennedy now seems like the kind of man who could have been behind anything. Every caption starts a casual, rambling anecdote that leads up to a well-known catastrophe or mystery, and the reader fills in the punchline.
The setup is what makes it work: a date, a place, and a trailing .... The calm, half-asleep look on his face makes the confessions funnier.
