Rodrick Screaming In Joy

About
“Rodrick Screaming In Joy” is an image macro built on a photo of Rodrick Heffley from Diary of a Wimpy Kid yelling at the sky with both fists raised, in a grey "Rock and Roll High School" T-shirt. It's also called Rodrick Happy or Rodrick Screaming "Cocaine and Fortnite", after its best-known caption. The standard version puts one thing in big Impact letters at the top and "AND" plus a second thing at the bottom, a pairing of two things that make Rodrick lose his mind. It spread on X and Instagram, and people also drop the bare picture into TikTok comments as a reaction.
Origin
The photo is a 2012 promo still for Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days, the third film in the series, with Devon Bostick as Rodrick. The earliest known meme with it came from Instagram user @a.thousand.apologies on December 14th, 2023, captioned "WHEN THE FUNCTION GOT A FENT CART". It got over 61,000 likes in five months.
The format that stuck showed up on April 16th, 2024, when X user @imbenbeal posted the picture with "COCAINE! AND FORTNITE" in top and bottom Impact text. A repost by @BrendanDaGawd the next day passed 39,000 likes, and quote-tweets started swapping in their own pairs right away. New versions kept going viral through May 2024, including one by @The_Pequod_ about white wine and Neil Young that got over 10,000 likes in a day.
Meaning
The meme is about pure, unfiltered excitement over a very specific combo. The joke in the original is how badly the two halves fit: a hard drug and a kids' video game, shouted with the same energy. Most remixes keep the "COCAINE!" top line and change the bottom to a show, game or character the poster loves, so it reads like a confession of two guilty pleasures.
Sometimes both halves get swapped out, as in "WEEEEED AND IT'S ALWAYS SUNNY IN PHILADELPHIA". Either way, Rodrick's face does the work: he looks like the happiest person alive.
