“Guy Pointing at Himself” is a reaction image of a young man in a plain white T-shirt jabbing a finger at his own chest with a wide-eyed, slightly baffled look. It's also called White Guy Pointing at His Chest, Me? Meme or Who, Me?. People caption it with a situation that turns the attention on the guy, usually with the text sitting right over his chest, and share it on TikTok, X and Reddit.

The picture is a stock photo. Photographer Sabphoto uploaded it to Shutterstock on October 13th, 2012, under the title Irresolute Young Man Pointing with a finger at Himself. Isolated On The White Background, and it also turned up on Dreamstime as Teenager Pointing At Himself. That's why a lot of copies floating around still have a faint Dreamstime watermark on the shirt.
The earliest known meme use is a Tumblr reblog by user sablestine on June 6th, 2022, posted as a reply to an edit of a mouse pointing at the viewer. It picked up steam in May 2025, when TikTok slideshows like "When the teacher calls on me but I lwk haven't been paying attention" pulled in over 100,000 likes. That same month TikTok let people comment with photos from their camera roll, and the guy became one of the go-to picture replies in comment sections.
Meaning
The pose says "Me?". It's the face you make when you're suddenly singled out, whether that's being accused of something, called on in class, or picked for something good you didn't see coming. Captions usually set up the moment the spotlight lands on the poster.
A lot of versions play it straight as disbelief, like someone finally saying they love you. Others flip it into irony, where the guy pointing at himself is plainly the one to blame, such as announcing that nobody leaves until he finds his own phone.
