Origin
Nobody knows who made the card, but it started going around in late May 2024. One of the earliest known posts is from May 24th, 2024, when X user @CFCKaz6_ used it to reply to a tweet that's since been deleted. That post only got 17 likes, so it probably wasn't the first.
There's no evidence Dyche ever called anything "utter woke nonsense." The quote was made up, and that's a big part of why it works: he has a reputation as a gruff, old-school manager, so the line sounds like something he'd say.
Meaning
The card is used to grumble, ironically, about small annoyances by labelling them "woke." Early on it was mostly football fans complaining about the modern game, like a tall player taking set pieces instead of going into the box, or a match delayed by thunder and lightning.
It soon spread beyond football. People post it about pop concerts at big matches, coffee with milk, water breaks or anything else that bugs them. The joke is how badly the label fits the complaint.
